Our Story
It was the year 1904 when Edward Joseph Ansell was born in the City of Birmingham, Great Britain. Growing up in Saltley, Edward was one of seven siblings, life was nothing but adventurous. Now, just for a moment, try to imagine life before technology: no phones, computers, iPads, game consoles, TVs or even Netflix. This meant that from a young age, creativity was his best friend. Edward would find adventure wherever he went, and this created his love for storytelling.
Edward soon went to work for Wolesly Car Factory in Birmingham, where he trained as an Engineer. At the time, Wolesly was the biggest car manufacturer in Great Britain.
However, they don't make these cars anymore, and the company was taken over in 1975 by 'BMC' the British Motor Corporation.
In 1949, Edward had a son, Roy, who is my father. Edward would make up exciting stories about a rat named Reggie, which Roy loved. When Roy started his own family, he continued to tell these adventurous stories.
Now, it's my turn. After I started a family, I continued the storytelling. And until my children have a family of their own, you, my readers and listeners, will become an important part of Reggie Rat's family of friends. You all get to share these adorable stories of 'Reggie Rat and Friends' with anyone who wants to read or listen to them.
